Nanning is the capital city of Guangxi
Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China. The city
has a history of 1,700 years, and is famous for its subtropical
scenery. Nanning is known as the "green city",
due to the numerous planted fruit and fragrant flower trees
such as magnolias, bauhinia, mango, almond, jackfruit, and
more.

Nanning has a population of 2.8 million, and
covers an area of just over 10,000 square kilometers. The
first settlement was established during the Eastern Jin
Dynasty around 318AD, and it was called the Jinxing County.
In 1325, the name was changed to the present Nanning, and
in 1914, the city was designated as the capital city of
Guangxi Province.
In terms of tourism, Nanning is overshadowed
by the world famous Guilin
city. For any tourist visiting the Guangxi province, they
are most likely to end up touring Guilin and the Li
Jiang River.

The city has a subtropical climate with an average temperature
of 21.6C. Often, its warm in winters as in summers. The
weather in Nanning city is often windy and rainy, with over
130cm of rain each year. Due to its warm climate, the city
rarely snows. |
