Hong Kong Ferry

Take a Ride on a Hong Kong Star Ferry

While traveling around Hong Kong, you are bound to take a ride on the Hong Kong Star Ferry. For over 100 years, passengers have entrusted the Star Ferry to take them where they need to go. Although many changes have occurred throughout that time, the Hong Kong Star Ferry Company has remained a reliable source of transportation and a historical symbol for all of Hong Kong.

Currently, the Hong Kong Star Ferry has a number of ferries, all of which have a name that includes the word “star” in it, that operate on four different routes. Some of the ferry names include Heaven Star, Gold Star, Morning Star, and as an opposite, Night Star.

Where you want to go and which route you will take will determine the price of your ticket and although there are differences for adult tickets and children’s tickets the ferry is still a reasonable means of transportation for anyone to take. Senior tickets on any ferry ride are free. Those four routes include one between Wanchai and Tsim Sha Tsui, Tsim Sha Tsui and Central, Central and Hung Hom, and Hung Hom and Wanchai.

While visiting the Hong Kong Star Ferry Company, you will find a nice blend of locals and tourists on any ferry ride that you take. Because of the inexpensive prices for riding the ferry and the quick ride it offers across the harbor, many people use the ferry company on a daily basis.

In addition to all the ferry rides that you can take via the Hong Kong Star Ferry Company during the day, you can also take a tourist trip around the Victoria Harbor. Providing a breathtaking view of Victoria Peak, where you find many infamous sights and homes for some of the wealthiest in all of Hong Kong. During your tour of Victoria Harbor, you will ride on a 1920s-style ferry designed especially for this purpose, which includes a deck for sunbathing during the day and stargazing at night, as well as a coffee house for relaxing either during the day or at night.

No matter what your trip to Hong Kong entails, a ride on one of Hong Kong’s Star Ferry Companies ferries should be on your list. Whether you take a ride and tour Victoria Harbor or use the ferry to get you from one destination to the next, you will not regret your ride.
