My flight arrived at 12:40pm at the Harbin Airport. The local temperature was minus 8 degrees, and I could feel the chill immediately after exiting the plane. I’ve lived in Saskatechewan (Mid Canada) for several years in the late 80’s and early 90’s, where it often gets to 40 below with wind chill, so I’m not new to the bone chilling cold.
Arrived at Harbin airport and just got off the plane.
Exiting through the Harbin airport, it didn’t seem crowded at all. Outside the airport, I took a taxi to ZhongYangDaJie (ZhongYang street), one of the very popular shopping districts of Harbin. The driver wanted $100 yuan flat rate, but I bargained it to $100 yuan to include the $20yuan highway toll fee.
Photo of the Harbin Airport from the outside. Some strangers (illegal cab drivers) there offered to take photo for me, but heck no, no one is running off with my camera, or try to extort "photo taking service" fee from me.
